Documentation

Welcome to Petzilla

Petzilla is an idle Discord bot game where you mine ores, collect pets, and build a passive income empire. Pets earn tokens 24/7 while you're offline, creating a hands-off progression system that rewards patience.

This documentation covers all core mechanics, commands, and systems. Use the sidebar to navigate to specific topics.

Getting Started

Starter Pack

Begin your journey with /starter. This gives you:

  • Rusty Pickaxe (12× ore multiplier)
  • Rusty Shovel (max depth: 16)
  • 1,000 starting tokens
  • 10 pet collection slots

The starter pack is a one-time claim. After claiming, you can begin mining with pz mine.

Getting Started

Command Prefix

All text commands use the prefix pz followed by the command name. For example:

pz mine
pz balance
pz help

Slash commands use Discord's native command system and begin with / (e.g., /starter, /chest).

Run pz help for a quick start guide or pz help all to see all available commands.
Core Gameplay

Mining

Use pz mine to dig for ores. Each mine session finds 1-3 ores based on your current depth and pickaxe tier. Mined ores go into your inventory and can be sold for tokens with pz sell all.

You can specify a depth with pz mine [depth], but it must be within your shovel's max depth. Premium subscribers always mine at maximum depth automatically.

Mining has a 5-minute cooldown (2.5 minutes for premium users).
Core Gameplay

Ores & Depth Ranges

Different ores appear at different depth ranges. The deeper you mine, the rarer (and more valuable) the ores become. Use pz ores info to see depth charts in Discord.

Ore Categories

  • 0-8 depth: Stone, Coal, Quartz (starter ores)
  • 8-20 depth: Copper, Agate, Iron
  • 20-50 depth: Topaz, Silver, Amethyst, Emerald, Ruby
  • 50-95 depth: Sapphire, Alexandrite, Zircon, Sunstone
  • 90-200 depth: Aetherstone, Void Quartz, Prismalite
  • 200-256 depth: Chronogem, Astralite (endgame)
  • 256-512 depth: Obsidian, Painite, Hazenite, Kyawthuite (Terrarium only)
Core Gameplay

Gear & Upgrades

Gear determines how deep you can mine and how many ores you extract per swing. There are two tool types:

  • Shovel: Determines max mining depth
  • Pickaxe: Multiplies the number of ores found

Both must be upgraded together to progress. You cannot skip tiers.

TierMax DepthOre MultiplierPet CapacityUpgrade Cost
Rusty1612×10Free (starter)
Iron3224×202,000 tokens
Steel6448×407,000 tokens

Mythic256132×12060,000 tokens
Groundbreaker384186×200180,000 tokens
Drill512248×350500,000 tokens

Upgrade with pz upgrade shovel or pz upgrade pickaxe. You must upgrade in order — you can't skip tiers. Pet collection capacity increases with your highest gear tier.

Core Gameplay

Pets Overview

Pets are companions that passively earn tokens over time. Open a chest with /chest (costs 500 tokens) to receive a random pet. Each pet has a species, color, and rarity that determines its base earning rate.

Use pz pets to see your 5 most recent pets, or pz pet <id> to view a specific one with full stats including level, XP progress, and earning multipliers.

Pet collection is capped by your gear tier. Upgrade tools to collect more pets.
Core Gameplay

Collecting Earnings

All your pets passively earn tokens every hour based on their rarity. Run pz collect to claim everything at once. Earnings cap at 7 days — after that they stop accumulating until you collect.

RarityBase Earn RateDefault Cap
⚪ Common15 tokens/hr7 days
🔵 Rare45 tokens/hr7 days
🟣 Epic120 tokens/hr7 days
🔴 Mythic300 tokens/hr7 days
🟡 Legendary750 tokens/hr7 days
🟢 Limited225 tokens/hr7 days

Use pz collect info to view rates in Discord. MEC Collect upgrades can increase both the earn rate and extend the cap beyond 7 days — see the MEC Upgrades section.

Tokens

Tokens are the primary in-game currency. Earn them by selling ores, collecting from pets, claiming daily rewards, and trading. Spend them on tool upgrades, chests, and marketplace pets.

Check your balance with pz balance. Send tokens to another player with pz pay <@user> <amount>.

Economy

Bolts v2.0

Bolts are a prestige currency used for pet leveling and purchasing the Season Pass. Convert tokens to Bolts with pz forge [amount].

Inventory Management v2.0

View your complete inventory with pz inventory or pz inv. This shows your pet collection count, ore storage, tokens, Bolts, and current gear tier.

Pet Collection Capacity

Pet capacity is determined by your highest gear tier. Use pz capacity to view all tiers and their limits.

When you reach your pet capacity, you must either upgrade your gear or sell/trade pets to make space before opening more chests.

Marketplace

The marketplace lets players list and buy pets from each other. Listings expire after 7 days if not purchased.

Mains Season II

Mains are your active pet roster — up to 4 pets whose upgrades actually affect your gameplay. Only a Main's MEC effects are applied. The rest of your collection sits idle (still collecting, just not boosting).

Think of Mains as your starting lineup. You pick the 4 pets you've invested in the most, and they work for you while you play.

pz mainsView your current 4 Main slots and their MEC levels.
pz main add <petId>Add a pet to your Mains. Triggers a 24h swap cooldown.
pz main remove <petId>Remove a pet from your Mains.
There is a 24 hour cooldown on swapping Mains. Choose carefully — you can't swap in and out on a whim.

MEC Upgrades Season II

MEC stands for Mine, Economy, Collect — three upgrade paths you can invest in per pet. Each path has 6 levels. Upgrades are permanent, sequential (you can't skip), and paid in Bolts.

Effects only apply when the pet is in a Main slot. All 4 Mains stack their effects together — so 4 fully upgraded Mains is a significant advantage over 1.

MEC upgrades are permanent and cannot be undone. If you sacrifice a pet through Rebirth, those upgrades are lost with it.

⛏️ Mine Path

Prestige Score Season II

Every pet has a Prestige Score from 0 to 100. It's a single number that reflects how invested a pet is — combining its rarity, MEC upgrade levels, and visual customization.

RarityBase ScoreMax with Full MEC
⚪ Common5~41
🔵 Rare20~56
🟣 Epic35~71
🔴 Mythic50~86
🟡 Legendary60~96
🟢 Limited70100

MEC levels contribute 1 prestige point each. Trails and glow effects add a small bonus on top. Only Limited pets can reach a perfect 100.

Pet Building

Trails Season II

Trails are animated background patterns that appear on your pet's profile card. They're purely cosmetic — but they also contribute +2 to your pet's Prestige Score and make your pets visually distinct from everyone else's.

Trails are earned by opening a Vault. The tier of trail you receive matches the rarity of the pet you pull — better rarity means a better trail pool.

Trail TierHow to GetExamples
EpicVault — Epic pet dropBatthern, Swirl, Lined Paper, Pinstripe
MythicVault — Mythic pet dropConnected, Cubes, Worn Dots
LegendaryVault — Legendary pet dropStardust, Woven, Axiom Pattern, Snow

A trail is automatically attached to the pet it came with. It displays whenever that pet's page is viewed on the website. Trails are kept if a pet is sold — they transfer to the new owner along with the pet.

Trails are tied to the pet, not the player. A Legendary trail on a pet you sell is gone from your collection permanently.
Progression

Rebirth Season II

Rebirth is the prestige system — a deliberate full reset that makes your next run permanently faster. You sacrifice everything you've built in exchange for a rebirth level that stacks on top of your account forever.

What you lose

  • All Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Mythic, and Legendary pets (deleted)
  • Tokens reset to 1,000
  • Tools reset to Rusty
  • All ores wiped
  • Active marketplace listings cancelled

What you keep

  • Limited pets — they go dormant (stop collecting) until sold to a new owner, at which point they reactivate
  • Bolts
  • Season Pass
  • Your rebirth level

Requirements

  • 1,000+ non-Limited pets
  • Drill tier tools (both shovel and pickaxe)
  • Token threshold for the target rebirth level

Vault Season II

The Vault is a premium chest that costs Bolts and always drops a high-rarity pet. Unlike the standard chest which can drop Commons, the Vault floor is Epic — every single time.

What's inside every Vault

  • One guaranteed Epic, Mythic, or Legendary pet
  • A Trail matching the pet's rarity — auto-attached to the pet
  • A 12-hour MEC-type boost (Mine Surge, Economy Surge, or Collect Surge)

Coin Flip Season II

pz cf halfBet half your token balance.

Win streaks are tracked and displayed. Consecutive wins build a 🔥 flame counter next to your result.
